Carbohydrates are your body’s primary source of energy. If you don’t eat enough carbs every day you will start to feel tired, lethargic and become depressed. There are two kinds of carbohydrates that you can consume, and they are simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. Theese two different types of carbs only differ in the time it takes to digest them.

Sugars are digested quickly, while starches are digested over a longer period. Simple carbs are in rubbish foods such as chocolate, cakes, biscuits and other processed foods with sugar additives. Healty fruits also have simple carbs in them and they are…

Apples
Grapes
Bananas
Raisins

Complex carbs are found in…

Breads
Cereals
Nuts
Pasta
Potatoes
Rice

Complex carbs take longer to digest so as a source of energy they are perfect because it ios more sustained. Eating complex carbs a couple of hours before exercising will give you a better workout which you’ll be able to put more into.

Low carb diets don’t work for the simple reason your body needs energy. You can’t survive physically or emotionally without energy. People on these fad diets soon give in, and start eating normally again. When people start a diet they do it to get more energy, not to suffer and have less.

Exercise along side a healthy diet is the only way to lose weight and increase your energy and fitness. You can’t do this if you don’t eat any carbohydrates. Exercise increase your muscle mass which then increases your metabolism which means your body then burns more calories even while you’re resting.

Exercising also burns more calories so with a good exercise program your body has the potential of burning an extra 4,000 to 5,000 calories a week. This means you coul be burning off teh amount of calories for two days eating. You also have the benefit of toning your body and becoming stronger and fitter.

Quick fix, fad diets usually only succeed is losing the water weight and lean muscle that you already have built up. This is why they do not work long-term. Starving and depriving yourself of needed carbohydrates simply slows your metabolism down to preserve the fat stores you already have in case of future nutrition shortage.

To maintain a good metabolic rate and sustain sufficient stamina for your workouts, you should consume several small nutritious meals in the course of each day. Studies have proven that healthy eating coupled with exercise leads to greater weight loss than healthy eating alone.
