If You Use Diflucan When You Don’t Have A Yeast Infection
If you take Diflucan and don’t have a yeast infection you’re going to be suffering from one very soon. Fluconazole ( the active ingredient in Diflucan ) is not an anti fungal drug that you can take when you like, or when you think “you might” be suffering from a yeast infection. It is a drug that you only take when your doctor has prescribed it, and your doctor will only prescribe a drug like this when you’ve had a proper examination.
Seeing your doctor first
If you’re suffering from any symptoms it’s important that you see your doctor before you try and treat your infection yourself. Only your doctor can give you a correct diagnosis so that you use the treatment that will cure your infection.
If you treat another infection with Diflucan
If you’re suffering from another infection in your vagina and you treat it with Diflucan you may find that the symptoms of the infection disappear. This doesn’t mean the infection is being cured, and what will actually happen is, the real infection will be getting worse. There are many vaginal infections that can have similar symptoms to a yeast infection, but they require a completely different treatment.
If you’re suffering from an infection that could spread to your reproductive organs then you could end up damaging them if the real infection isn’t diagnosed in time.
Creating a yeast infection with Fluconazole
If you use Fluconazole when you don’t have a yeast infection then you can cause a yeast infection. When you start suffering from an infection that has been started by using an anti fungal drug then the infection you have will be resistant to the treatment.
So if you’re suffering from another vaginal infection you’ll end up with 2 infections that will need immediate treatment. If the real infection is a urinary tract infection then you’ll be prescribed antibiotics. Taking antibiotics will make the yeast infection you’ve created even worse so it will take longer to cure, and you’ll probably suffer from Candida overgrowth in your intestines that will need to be treated first.
Be careful with your medicines and drugs
All medicines have been created for specific infections, and it’s important that you only use them for what they’ve been prescribed for. If you’re in any doubt then you must visit your doctor or speak to someone at the chemist/drug store.
