Monistat Yeast Infection Test

A monistat yeast infection test is not only inaccurate, but it is potentially dangerous. Anti fungal creams are to be used once you have had your yeast infection diagnosed by your doctor. They are not in any way a method of diagnosing any infection. The only way you should test for a yeast infection is see your doctor at the first sign of your symptoms. The reasons are explained below.

Monistat yeast infection test if you don’t have a yeast infection

If you use any OTC anti fungal cream to attempt to diagnose a yeast infection you will feel relief even if you’re suffering from another vaginal bacterial infection. This often makes women feel that they do have a yeast infection so they continue with the OTC cream thinking they’re curing their infection.

What happens next is, they stop their treatment after a day or a week depending on what strength treatment they’ve been using, and as soon as the treatment stops their infection returns. This is where it gets dangerous. Some women will assume they have a recurring yeast infection, and go out and purchase another OTC treatment that is stronger, or they will get an oral anti fungal and use that.

If the infection is something like Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea then they now risk damaging their reproductive organs by not treating the infection with the proper treatment. These vaginal, bacterial infections can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease ( PID ) which can cause permanent damage to reproductive organs and/or causes an ectopic pregnancy.

Resistant yeast infections

Using an anti fungal yeast infection treatment on your vagina if you don’t have any mutated Candida infecting it can actually cause a yeast infection. The cream will cause the harmless Candida that lives naturally in your vagina to mutate so it can fight it off, and also creates an imbalance in your natural vaginal flora. The chances of the Candida becoming resistant increase as the anti fungal cream is continually used trying to cure another vaginal infection.

A monistat yeast infection test is something that is used by many women, and they will continue to do so because it saves them going to the doctor to be examined, and they think that the results are accurate. They won’t know any different until they read the dangers on the internet, or they happen to meet someone who asks if they’ve been correctly diagnosed before they pay for the OTC treatment.

How Long Does Monistat Burn Last

How long does monistat burn last? If Monistat or any other anti fungal cream or suppository is burning you then you need to stop using it right away, and then go back to your doctor. Burning from any OTC yeast infection treatment is a side effect of the main active ingredient.

Miconazole

Miconazole is that active ingredient, and this is what some women have an allergic reaction to when they apply a cream or insert a suppository. Burning is not something that is suppose to happen when using these anti fungal treatments.

Damaged skin cells

If you continue to use the treatment while it is burning you ( many women do ) then you take the risk in damaging the lining of your vagina if the medication starts damaging your skin cells. This causes women to then start applying the treatment when they feel they can withstand the pain, and with this stop-start approach to yeast infection treatments they can create a resistant yeast infection.

Resistant Candida yeasts

If the cream is applied, and then it’s left a couple of days so the burning goes away, and then it’s applied again, and you follow this pattern the Candida will easily mutate to fight off teh treatment. In between each application of the OTC cream the yeast will not be killed, and it will mutate so it becomes stronger for the next time you apply the cream. After a while the cream becomes useless as a yeast infection cure, and you will need to go onto more powerful anti fungal drugs.

A simple natural cure

If you find that your OTC yeast infection treatment is burning you then you can try a simple, cheap, natural and effective treatment. All you do is dip a tampon in a live, natural, sugar free yogurt, and then insert the tampon as you would normally. Take the tampon out after a couple of hours as leaving it in too long can make your symptoms worse.

You can do this a couple of times a day until your yeast infection is cured. The Candida yeast can’t become resistant to the yogurt because the friendly bacteria in the yogurt live naturally in your vagina already. All you’re doing is strengthening the population of your vaginal, friendly bacteria.

If the yogurt doesn’t work then you will need to find out what is causing your yeast infections, and your doctor may be able to help you if it’s a health related issue.
